Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday evening moved to lavish praise on a member of the club’s attacking ranks.

The player in question? Ferran Torres.

Barcelona are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front.

Brimming with confidence fresh off a 2-1 victory at Newcastle United in the Champions League in midweek, the Blaugrana have welcomed Getafe to Catalunya’s capital for a league clash.

The aforemenetioned Ferran was for his part afforded a starting berth in the fixture, joining Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in attack.

And as things stand at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, it is the former Manchester City man who represents the game’s decisive figure.

As much comes owing to a superb brace.

After first slotting home a brilliant first-time finish from a Dani Olmo backheel, Ferran added to his tally courtesy of another composed strike just past the half-hour mark.

Such exploits come amid what has been a stellar opening to the campaign for the Spanish international, now boasting five goal contributions in six appearances.

And this fine form has not gone at all unappreciated on the part of the Barcelona faithful.
