Motherwell host Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 at Fir Park, with the hosts looking to cement a top four spot and the visitors aiming to close the gap on leaders Hearts.
These sides shared a 1-1 draw at Fir Park on opening day before Rangers edged the reverse fixture 1-0 in December, so margins have been tight across the season's meetings.
Motherwell arrive in strong form, unbeaten in six in all competitions with five wins in that run, including a 4-0 home victory over Kilmarnock and a 2-0 success at Livingston. Rangers have three wins in their last five across competitions, following a 0-0 at Hibernian with a 5-1 league win over Kilmarnock and an 8-0 Scottish Cup victory against Queen's Park.
On the numbers, both teams average 59% possession this season, but Rangers have generated more attempts, 274 to 227, and have nine headed goals backed by high crossing volume from open play. That aerial threat could test a Motherwell defence conceding just 0.7 goals per game with 13 clean sheets. At the other end, Tawanda Maswanhise leads the league with 13 goals, while James Tavernier has seven league goals for Rangers, and Nicolas Raskin and Elijah Just supply creativity with five and six assists respectively.
A Rangers win would take them to 54 points and could tighten the title race. Victory for Motherwell would move them to 46 points and strengthen their hold on the top four.
