Thiago Motta is still at risk of the sack at Juventus despite the club putting their temporary trust in him following the team’s disastrous set of results against Fiorentina and Atalanta in Serie A over the last two weeks.
The Bianconeri have fallen to consecutive heavy losses in Serie A: A record-breaking 4-0 defeat at home against Atalanta and a 3-0 loss away against Fiorentina on Sunday. Juve have also lost their place in the Serie A top four as a result, and there are now four teams sitting within four points of the Old Lady, waiting to overtake in case of another slip-up.
Juventus are currently on for their worst Serie A finish in almost 15 years – dating back to the 2010-11 season, and still risk missing out on a Champions League spot in the standings.

On Monday, it became clear that Motta would not resign in the aftermath of the last two Serie A defeats. The club also put their temporary faith in the coach by deciding not to sack him immediately after the Fiorentina loss.
According to multiple reports, there was an in-depth discussion between the coach, players, technical director Cristiano Giuntoli and CEO Maurizio Scanavino to address the current issues at Juventus on Monday

While Motta still has the temporary trust from the club and his players, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the situation will change if Juventus fall to a shock defeat against Genoa in Serie A next Saturday.
Losing to Genoa puts Champions League qualification at an even greater risk, and with the Bianconeri also out of the current edition of that tournament and the Coppa Italia as well, that does not leave much to play for for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.
