La Lazio Siamo Noi and Il Corriere dello Sport report Edoardo Motta will miss Sunday’s Derby della Capitale with a muscle injury, leaving Lazio with a goalkeeping emergency. He joins Mattia Zaccagni and Patric on the sidelines, so Alessio Furlanetto is the only senior option.
The 21-year-old arrived in January to replace Christos Mandas, who moved to Bournemouth. He has impressed for the Biancocelesti while covering Ivan Provedel, whose season ended after shoulder surgery.
Furlanetto, 24, is a club academy graduate promoted to the first team in 2022, then fully integrated in 2024 after loans at Renate and Fermana. Having been third choice, he is poised for a Serie A debut against Roma, which would also be his first senior appearance for Lazio.
La Lazio Siamo Noi adds that Mario Gila and Toma Basic are not at full fitness. Basic should make way for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, while Gila is still expected to start given limited options, with Alessio Romagnoli suspended, Patric injured, and Samuel Gigot yet to feature this season.
If Gila does not make it, Adam Marusic would move inside and Manuel Lazzari come in at right-back. The latest probable XI, 4-3-3, reads Furlanetto, Marusic, Gila, Provstgaard, Tavares, Dele-Bashiru, Rovella, Taylor, Isaksen, Dia, Noslin.
