Mourinho case in Türkiye against Galatasaray thrown out amid TFF dispute | OneFootball

Mourinho, the Benfica manager, has had his civil lawsuit in Türkiye against Galatasaray dismissed after seeking around 35,000 euros for alleged moral damages.

According to Turkiy Gazetesi, the claim centred on Galatasaray posts following the 24 February 2025 derby with Fenerbahçe, which ended 0-0, with Mourinho arguing they harmed his reputation.

The court found the club’s statements did not amount to an unlawful attack on his personal rights, viewing them instead as a response to a controversy initiated by the coach.

This development comes as Mourinho also contests decisions by Türkiye’s football authorities. In March 2025 he filed a complaint over disciplinary sanctions imposed by the Turkish Football Federation for statements and behaviour deemed unsporting.

The federation’s disciplinary board issued a one-match ban and two fines totalling about 18,000 euros, citing conduct towards opposition supporters and members of the refereeing team. The matter continues to shape his time in Turkish football, while his future remains a live topic.
