José Mourinho, speaking before Benfica’s game with Nacional, reiterated he is not entirely satisfied with his squad and said only a few coaches are content.
Record writes that the five he had in mind are Luis Enrique at PSG, Álvaro Arbeloa at Real Madrid, Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick at Barcelona and Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Mourinho said he would not name them, argued it is almost impossible for any coach to be completely happy, and suggested about five in Europe would not change anything. He said those coaches lead the most powerful teams with freedom in the market and little concern for financial fair play, while accepting emotion and frustration may have influenced his view.
He added he could identify five privileged clubs and coaches, noting that most managers would still make a change after a frustrating performance and result.
Benfica will be the second of Portugal’s big clubs in action this round, after Sporting beat Estrela da Amadora 1-0 on Saturday.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, 12 April, at 18:00, with exclusive live coverage on BTV and commentary on Benfica FM. Fábio Veríssimo will referee.
