Mourinho’s Real Madrid 2.0 begin pre-season with medicals and light session | OneFootball

José Mourinho has kicked off Real Madrid’s 2026-27 pre-season with morning medicals followed by a light 17:00 workout at Valdebebas.

Those present for the first training included internationals who did not go to the World Cup, among them Lunin, Militao, Trent, Asencio, Carreras, Mendy, Huijsen, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Gonzalo and Mastantuono. Several are still rehabbing long-term injuries, notably Mendy, Militao and Rodrygo, and, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo, they were joined by academy players including Mestre, Fran, Melvin, Joan Martínez and Lamini Fati.

The World Cup contingent will report in waves, with Arda Guler due on 17 July, Valverde on 18, Rudiger and Dumfries on 21, Vinícius and Endrick on 27, Bernardo Silva on 28, Brahim on 31 and Thibaut Courtois on 1 August.

Players still involved in the tournament, including Cucurella, Mbappé, Tchouameni and Konaté, are set to arrive between 5 and 10 August, with exact dates to be confirmed. Courtois visited Valdebebas this morning for tests, which ruled out a serious muscle injury, and he is now expected to return after his holidays.

Madrid’s first official outing is scheduled for 1 August at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria, against Fiorentina at 18:00.

They also have the Teresa Herrera date at Deportivo de La Coruña on 12 August at 21:00 at Riazor, and for now those are the only confirmed pre-season fixtures.
