Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia is already in the Netherlands to finalise his transfer to PSV Eindhoven.

While the winter transfer window had already closed in England on Monday night, Premier League clubs can still sell or loan out their players. Therefore, Malacia’s transfer to the Dutch champions remains on the card as the market is still open in the Netherlands until Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old has been plying his trade at Old Trafford since 2022 when he sealed a transfer from Feyenoord to join Erik ten Hag’s revolution. However, the wingback is now coming off a long injury ordeal and has yet to regain his optimal shape, which is why the Red Devils are looking to loan him out so he can work on retaining his condition while playing regular football.

Last weekend, Malacia was heavily linked with a transfer to Benfica, but the deal faltered when the two clubs couldn’t reach a definitive agreement. But in the last 24 hours, PSV emerged as an alternative solution.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the player has now returned to his home country as he awaits the final green light to sign his contract with the Dutch champions and Eredivisie league leaders.

“PSV Eindhoven are set to fix details of Tyrell Malacia’s loan move from Man United today,” posted the transfer market expert on his X account on Tuesday morning. “Malacia, already in Holland to get the move done.”

For their part, Man United have already acquired a replacement in the shape of Patrick Dorgu who completed a £30 million move from Lecce on Monday. Moreover, Luke Shaw’s return from injury is nearing, as the experienced England international has already resumed training with his teammates. This should provide Amorim with enough cover on the left flank.
