Mudryk available for immediate return after doping ban reduced | OneFootball

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is free to return to football immediately after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against a four-year doping ban.

The 25-year-old has not played a competitive match since November 2024 after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium while on international duty with Ukraine. He was provisionally suspended the following month before the Football Association imposed a four-year ban earlier this year.

Mudryk appealed the decision, and CAS has now ruled that he can resume playing after accepting a breach of the anti-doping rules and agreeing to a suspension covering the time he has already served.

The Ukraine international has always insisted he did not knowingly take meldonium, with reports suggesting the low level detected could have been the result of accidental contamination. 

Chelsea welcomed the decision, confirming Mudryk will join the club's pre-season tour as he works his way back to full fitness. The winger is now available for selection and could make his long-awaited return after almost two years away from competitive football.
