Murat Yakin has named Switzerland's 26-man squad for the World Cup, taking place from 11 June to 19 July, with three players from the French top flight included. According to L'Équipe, the trio are Yvon Mvogo of Lorient, Denis Zakaria of Monaco and Breel Embolo of Rennes.
Switzerland are the second side from Group B to publish their squad after Bosnia and Herzegovina. Yakin, a former international with 49 caps, has leaned heavily on Bundesliga talent.
The squad includes regular leaders such as Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and captain Granit Xhaka, who plays for Sunderland. Right-back Zachary Athekame of AC Milan has been left out.
Xherdan Shaqiri, 34, retired from international football in 2024 after earning 125 caps, so he will not travel to North America. Ricardo Rodriguez, 33, is set for his fourth World Cup.
The squad also features Manuel Akanji, Nico Elvedi and Silvan Widmer in defence, Remo Freuler and Djibril Sow in midfield, and Zeki Amdouni, Noah Okafor and Ruben Vargas in attack.
