ge.globo reports that Murilo Ugolini Klein has been appointed to referee Corinthians’ friendly at FC Cascavel on Sunday, his first match in charge of the club. The game will be played at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Paraná.
Although new as the main referee for a Corinthians fixture, the Curitiba-born official has previously served as fourth official in the club’s Campeonato Brasileiro matches, including against Athletico-PR in 2023 and Coritiba in 2022.
The assistants are Lucas Henrique Gowatiski and Luis Henrique Campanhoni Amadori, with Daniel Dantas Canario de Melo acting as fourth official. As it is a friendly, there will be no VAR.
The match marks Corinthians’ return to friendlies after more than two years. Their last such outing was a 3-0 win over Londrina in March 2024 at the same stadium, watched by 11,574, with two goals from Ángel Romero and one from Giovane.
This will be the first official meeting between Corinthians and FC Cascavel. Founded in 2008, the Paraná club have been in the state’s top flight since 2020 and currently play in Série D of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Afterwards, Corinthians will host Remo at Neo Química Arena on 23 July at 19:30 in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
