Complicated injury with consequences

At the same time, Hoeneß provided rare insights into the medical details of the injury. According to him, it was not „just“ a classic fracture. „The joint popped out of the socket,“ he explained. The joint had to be reset on the pitch by team doctor Dr. Hahne – a delicate moment that may have caused additional damage

The cartilage in particular appears to have been affected. „You just have to hope that it recovers and no pain remains,“ said Hoeneß

The consequences are still visible today. Musiala is fighting his way back step by step after his comeback in January and is currently mostly used as a wild card

„It was one of the most serious injuries you can have,“ Hoeneß emphasized, also explaining why the 23-year-old is not yet back to 100 percent
