According to a report by TZ München, Jamal Musiala lost his driver's license following an Autobahn accident that took place in last year while he was caught speeding on the A8 near Neubiberg – fortunately the incident had no serious consequences.
The accident occurred on April 13, 2025. Florian Lindemann, spokesman for the Munich Public Prosecutor's Office, confirmed that Musiala was driving on the A8 Autobahn towards Salzburg at around 2:30 p.m.
Lindemann stated the player was driving an Audi RS e-tron GT and Musiala's younger sister was also in the car. The traffic accident itself occurred near Neubiberg involving ‘the accused Jamal M.’
The public prosecutor's office spokesperson continued: “While overtaking, the accused Jamal M., who was driving at excessive speed at the time, failed to see a car driving to his right, resulting in a collision.”
According to the spokesperson, the speed limit at the accident site was 120 km/h – but Musiala was driving 194 km/h “at the time of the collision” with the police stating Musiala's car struck a VW Golf.
The 30-year-old driver of the VW Golf from Munich and his 26-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries, according to Lindemann. The property damage also equated to approximately €200,000 it's believed.
Musiala now faces the consequences from the Munich District Court, at the request of the public prosecutor's office, who issued a legally binding penal order against the accused Jamal M. on January 28, 2026, for negligent endangerment of road traffic and negligent bodily harm in two cases.
According to the public prosecutor's office, Musiala was fined and "furthermore, his driver's license was revoked," said Lindemann – according to him, this happened in mid-February.
Lindemann stated that Musiala "may not be issued a new driver's license until nine months have passed from the date the penalty order becomes legally binding" – so likely not until autumn. The player's side have confirmed the incident.
