“We've arrived in the Bundesliga” – those were the words of Miron Muslic after guiding Schalke to their first Bundesliga win of the season last night.

“The victory feels fantastic. We at Schalke 04 have had to wait a long time for this moment,” he said after their 3-1 triumph over 1.FC Union Berlin.

"With the three points against Union, we proved that our performance last week [0-0 at home to Bayern Munich] wasn't a fluke.

The way we performed from the first to the last second was very impressive. In the end, we leave the pitch as deserved winners," he added.

The Royal Blues' head coach was extremely satisfied with how the game unfolded, praising his team's defense and timing.

"We knew what to expect in Berlin. Lots of long balls – and we defended them excellently. We were also clean in our transitions.

"The timing of our goals was good; we even had a chance to make it 2-0 before halftime. We did that immediately after the restart.

“The two-goal lead made the rest of the game a bit easier for us. The win was another step in our process,” he concluded.

Schalke return to Gelsenkirchen with three points and will rest up before next Sunday's clash with fellow promotees SV Elversberg.
