Lazio youngster Romano Floriani Mussolini is close to securing a move away from the Biancocelesti in favour of a new opportunity in Serie A with the recently-promoted Cremonese, Football Italia understands.
Mussolini, the great-grandson of Benito Mussolini, has been on Lazio’s books since 2016, but is still yet to make a competitive senior appearance at the age of 22.
The right-back has spent the last two seasons out on loan away from the Stadio Olimpico, initially with Pescara in Serie C for the 2023-24 season, and then with Juve Stabia, who finished the 2024-25 in fifth place in Serie B.

Mussolini is now close to securing a move to Cremonese, who finished one place above Juve Stabia in Serie B last season and then beat them in the play-off semi-finals on their way to promotion.
Lazio are set to retain control of the player’s contract, and could give the crucial green light to the move by today.
This will be a crucial opportunity for Mussolini to showcase his talents in the Italian top flight for the first time.
Other Serie B sides have also enquired over the 22-year-old’s availability, but it is Cremonese who are now close to closing a deal.
