FLW's Sheffield Wednesday Fan Pundit Patrick has spoken on the links between Danny Röhl and Rangers, following the sacking of Russell Martin.

Ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Röhl has been linked with the vacant job at Rangers, following the sacking of Russell Martin over the weekend.
The Scottish giants have picked up just eight points in their opening seven SPL matches, leaving them eighth in the standings - 11 points away from league leaders Hearts, and nine away from arch-rivals Celtic.
Martin, who won promotion to the Premier League with Southampton in 2024, was never fully taken in by supporters after a poor start both domestically and in Europe, and he was sacked over the weekend following his side's 1-1 draw away at Falkirk.
As per multiple reports, including from GIVEMESPORT, former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Röhl is included on a shortlist of managers potentially in line to take over at Ibrox.
Speaking to Football League World, Wednesday Fan Pundit Patrick McKenna believes that Röhl would be a good fit for the club, but is not quite sure about whether the German manager will rush into anything just yet.
"I will admit, I do have limited knowledge of Scottish football, but looking at the situation at Rangers at the moment, it does not seem like a very happy place," said Patrick when asked whether Röhl would be a good fit at Ibrox.
"The fans obviously seem quite annoyed at the board for the strategic approach, and of course, the Russell Martin experiment was a disaster. And with Rangers lying far below where they should be in the league, is the job potentially a poisoned chalice?"
Rangers have won just once in the league this season, and their five additional draws see the club sit with just eight points heading into the international break. A 9-1 aggregate defeat against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs also relegated the club to the Europa League - another competition in which they have started poorly, with losses against Genk and Sturm Graz.
"Maybe it just isn't an ideal job," added Patrick. "But, I suppose you could flip that around, and look at the circumstances he came into at Sheffield Wednesday, and the job that he managed to do at the club, you could argue that he'd be the perfect fit to pick Rangers back up."
"I'm torn on it. There are a lot of expectations that come with the Rangers job, and there will be huge pressure. I am seeing both sides of it, and my gut feeling is that he wouldn't rush to the job."
Patrick concluded, saying: "But, of course, as we know, stranger things have happened."
Röhl has been out of work since leaving Sheffield Wednesday in July. However, he carries a sky-high reputation across the EFL thanks to how he was able to guide the Owls to Championship safety following his arrival in the 2023/24 season.
He then went on to lead the club to a mid-table finish last term, before circumstances far out of his control brought an end to his time at Hillsborough over the summer.
It would be unfair on Sheffield Wednesday to suggest that the current mess at Rangers is akin to the ongoing financial horrors under Dejphon Chansiri in South Yorkshire, but Röhl is a man who has experience of coming in to do a job at a time of need.
While an immediate title charge may be off the cards when it comes to expectations at Ibrox, the club requires a leader capable of putting out the fires started during the season's opening months. Röhl proved that he could do exactly that at Wednesday, under extremely trying circumstances due to the club's current ownership.
Naturally, expectations are higher at Rangers; this would be the biggest test for Röhl. But his record speaks for itself; he has to be one of the names towards the top of the club's list.
