The Blues have long had issues between the sticks with neither Robert Sanchez or Filip Jorgensen of the required quality.
Sanchez was having a good season up until the league defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates, and Liam Rosenior has seemingly dented his confidence after dropping him for Jorgensen.
Fans want the Blues to sign a new goalkeeper despite Sanchez’s improved showing for the vast majority of the campaign.
Chelsea turned down the chance to sign Mike Maignan last summer as they weren’t prepared to meet AC Milan’s valuation.
The Blues have highly rated youngster Mike Penders on their books who’s impressing at Strasbourg, but Crook has told them to solve their issues by signing Pickford.
“I just can’t take Chelsea seriously as a football club,” he told talkSPORT.
“I don’t understand the project. They’ve got four or five who could be potential number one.
“And my hot take is, there’s a simple solution, go and get the England number one, Jordan Pickford.”

It’s been reported part of the reason Chelsea didn’t sign a keeper last summer is because they were worried about blocking the pathway for Penders.

It’s believed Penders is currently leading the race to be number one next season, but promoting him would represent a huge risk.
It’s clear neither Sanchez or Jorgensen are good enough to take Chelsea to where they want to be, and the Blues can’t afford to get another decision wrong in goal.
