The Blues are once again looking for another head coach following the sacking of Liam Rosenior last week, with the fans relationship with the owners at an all time low.

Rosenior is the second head coach to leave Stamford Bridge this season following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January.

Calum McFarlane has been placed in interim charge for the remainder of the season, whilst Chelsea take their time in appointing a new head coach.

There’s reportedly seven or eight candidates under consideration, with Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva thought to be on the list.

Chelsea have reportedly reached out to Xabi Alonso’s agent, but fans really want to see a proven manager with winning pedigree takeover.

The sporting directors are under pressure to get this appointment right given how many mistakes they’ve made, and Merson has said what his main issue with the club is.

“My problem with the way the club is run now is, I think they’ll always be getting a manager that’s grateful to manage Chelsea,” he told Sky Sports as quoted on X.com.

“Gone are the days where they got top, top managers where the club is grateful for them being their manager.”
