Napoli have reportedly offered Scott McTominay a new and improved contract to June 2030, hoping to stave off any interest before the World Cup begins.
The midfielder hit the absolute peak of his career after leaving Manchester United for the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, as in his first season he was named Serie A MVP, won the Scudetto, and was nominated for the Ballon d’Or.
The 29-year-old’s value on the transfer market also surged from the original €30.5m fee paid to Manchester United in the summer of 2024.

According to multiple reports including Sport Mediaset, Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli are eager to lock him down to a new deal before he starts the World Cup with Scotland.
They sat down with McTominay to discuss an improved contract, which would be extended from the current 2028 expiry to 2030.
Above all, it would bump up his salary from the current €3m per season to a figure of €5m.
That puts him level with Rasmus Hojlund, only earning less than Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku in the current squad.
