Napoli ‘to offer’ Lucca or Ngonge to Lazio in Mario Gila swap | OneFootball

Napoli are weighing up offering players in exchange for Mario Gila, with Lorenzo Lucca or Cyril Ngonge under consideration to tempt Lazio.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Napoli have identified the pair as potential makeweights as they pursue the 25-year-old defender, currently viewed as their top target.

Gennaro Gattuso has asked president Claudio Lotito to keep Gila, who has one year left on his contract. Lazio’s valuation is reportedly €30 million, but only half would stay in Rome because Real Madrid hold a 50% sell-on clause.

Since agreeing terms with Massimiliano Allegri, Napoli have been seen as the Spaniard’s leading suitors. The Tuscan coach had also planned to bring the centre-back to AC Milan before his dismissal.

Lucca, 25, moved from Udine to Naples last summer but had limited minutes at the Stadio Maradona. He joined Nottingham Forest on loan in January and scored one goal in nine appearances. A new striker is a priority for Gattuso and Lucca is on his shortlist.

Ngonge, an inverted right winger who rose to prominence at Hellas Verona before joining Napoli in January 2024, is another option. The 26-year-old spent this season on loan at Torino and Espanyol, producing one goal and four assists in 32 outings.
