NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with Nashville SC and Club América drawing nil-nil in the First Leg of their Quarterfinals series on Tuesday at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

América came close to opening the scoring in the 30’, but a shot from Alejandro Zendejas from the center of the box was denied by Nashville goalkeeper Brian Schwake.

Nashville nearly had the winner in the 87’, but the effort from Raúl Zúñiga was ultimately saved by Schwake.

Alex Muyl had a good opportunity for the hosts in the 90’+2’, with a hit from the top of the box that was ultimately high above the bar.

Both goalkeepers delivered stellar performances en route to their respective clean sheets. Nashville’s Schwake made four saves, while América’s Cota totaled three.

The result marked Club América’s fourth consecutive clean sheet in its past four away Concacaf Champions Cup matches against MLS teams (3-1-0), dating back to September 2021.

Club América will host the Second Leg of the series next Tuesday at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, Mexico. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Semifinals.

Post Match – Data

Club América have kept clean sheets in each of their last four away Concacaf Champions Cup matches against MLS teams (W3 D1), a streak dating back to September 2021.

Nashville SC became just the second MLS team to keep a clean sheet against Club América in the Concacaf Champions Cup. The only previous time Las Águilas failed to score in 17 matches against MLS opposition in the competition was a 1-0 loss to Atlanta United in 2020.

Erick Sánchez (Club América) recorded six duels won, four tackles attempted, and four recoveries against Nashville SC. Only once before has a Club América player reached those marks in a Concacaf Champions Cup 2026 match—Sánchez himself against Philadelphia (11 duels won, four tackles, and five recoveries).

Nashville SC registered more total shots than Club América, with 13 attempts to Las Águilas’ eight. However, it was André Jardine’s side that produced more shots on target, four to Nashville’s three.

Sam Surridge (Nashville SC) led his team in shots in the match with three attempts and now leads Nashville in total attempts in this Concacaf Champions Cup, with nine, scoring once.

Cristian Espinoza recorded three chances created for Nashville SC. He has created multiple chances in each of his four appearances in this season’s Concacaf Champions Cup, with 10 total chances created, tied for the fourth-most in the competition.

Álex Zendejas recorded five interceptions for Club América, equaling the highest total by any player in a single match in this season’s Concacaf Champions Cup. It also marked the most interceptions Zendejas has recorded in any of his 174 matches for Club América across all competitions.
