Wolves Women clinched their first-ever promotion to the Women’s Super League Two on Monday, Charlotte Greengrass scoring to beat Plymouth at the Pirelli Stadium.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that manager Dan McNamara called the achievement life changing, with chairman Nathan Shi in the stands as promotion was sealed.

The rise comes a year after former chairman Jeff Shi did not apply for a tier two licence while the side were pushing for promotion.

Nathan Shi, appointed earlier this season, has been praised for cutting season ticket prices, but faced criticism at the weekend when a supporter filmed him over an incident in the South Bank during the 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

He celebrated with the squad and said it was a landmark for the club, expressing pride in the players, McNamara and staff, and praising their commitment, resilience and togetherness over consecutive seasons against professional sides.

Looking ahead, he said the club will move to a professional model next season and hope to build on this success, giving the team a platform to compete and thrive at a higher level.
