Nazariy Rusyn is edging towards a permanent Sunderland exit, according to Sport.ua. A fee has been agreed with Karpaty Lviv and the move could be completed in the coming days.
Having struggled for regular minutes, the forward joined Polish top-tier side Arka Gdynia in January and scored four goals in the second half of the campaign.
Sunderland are likely to make a loss on the fee paid to Zorya Luhansk in summer 2023. While the framework with the Ukrainian club is in place, Rusyn still needs to agree terms with Sunderland to finalise the exit, with one year left on his contract.
Any fee would help limit the loss from an SCR perspective, since profit or loss is set against a player’s book value at sale and averaged across three years. It would also mark progress in Florent Ghisolfi’s push to trim the wage bill and move on players unlikely to feature in Régis Le Bris’s plans.
Milan Aleksić last week joined Partizan Belgrade on loan, with an option to buy next summer for a fee reportedly around £1,000,000. Harrison Jones has also left permanently for League One side Peterborough United.
Several players are due back from loans ahead of pre-season, including Arthur Masuaku, Jenson Seelt, Timothée Pembélé, Simon Adingra, Alan Browne, Leo Hjelde and Aji Alese. Anthony Patterson is also expected to depart this summer after his Millwall loan, amid strong interest.
