Elliot Anderson featured prominently in England’s first two matches. The Three Lions lead Group L and are on course for the round of 32, with Panama to come on Saturday.

Ivory Coast, including Ibrahim Sangare, sit second in Group E with one to play and face Curacao today, Thursday.

Chris Wood and Tyler Bindon remain in contention with New Zealand. The All Whites are bottom of Group G ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Belgium but could still progress.

Angus Gunn and Scotland finished third in Group C with three points after a 3-0 defeat to Brazil. They are not automatically through and must wait to see if they qualify among the best third-placed teams.

The tournament across the Atlantic features broad Forest representation in its largest edition to date.

Former Reds involved include Brice Samba with France, Danilo with Brazil, Matt Turner with the USA and Richie Laryea with Canada.

Former Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi led Tunisia in their opener, then was sacked following a 5-1 loss to Sweden.
