Alexander Nübel no longer has a future at FC Bayern—and continues to look for a new club. Now, one interested party is making a concrete move and approaching the Munich club. Talks regarding a transfer fee have apparently already begun.
Specifically, it’s Besiktas Istanbul. As Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports, the team that finished fourth in last season’s Süper Lig has officially contacted officials at Säbener Straße. According to the report, negotiations regarding a potential transfer fee are already underway between the two clubs. Nübel is set to become the new number one on the Bosporus.
There is a clear reason why the 29-year-old needs to make a move at all: the goalkeeper no longer has a future at FC Bayern. A return to his loan club, VfB Stuttgart, also appears to be off the table. The Stuttgart club cannot and will not afford to sign him permanently and is instead planning to rely on homegrown talent Dennis Seimen. As a result, much points to a move to another European country—several clubs have expressed interest in the World Cup veteran.
When it comes to price, the German record champions are apparently making no concessions. According to reports, the Munich club is demanding more than ten million euros for their goalkeeper. Whether Besiktas will meet this demand is now a central part of the negotiations that have begun.
But the deal is far from certain. It remains unclear whether Nübel is even seriously considering a move to Turkey. Currently, he does not seem inclined to do so and continues to explore other options.

Salary is an additional hurdle. At Säbener Straße, the Paderborn native earns up to eleven million euros per season. This sum is likely to make a transfer to the Bosphorus significantly more difficult.
So the situation is clear: Bayern is planning without Nübel, Besiktas has approached the Munich club as a concrete suitor, and negotiations over the transfer fee are underway. However, both the amount of the fee and the question of whether the goalkeeper ultimately wants to make this move remain open.
