Nemanja Gudelj’s Sevilla future is closely linked to the planned entry of Five Eleven Capital and Sergio Ramos into the club’s ownership, a step that would immediately restart talks over the captain’s contract, ABC de Sevilla reports.

The 34-year-old’s deal expires in June. Sevilla had planned a one-year extension, mindful of his leadership, and Gudelj has prioritised staying, even taking a significant pay cut in his last renewal. Uncertainty around the proposed ownership change has paused discussions. If no agreement is reached, his exit would end seven consecutive seasons with the club.

ABC de Sevilla adds that contacts are already under way and there is confidence an agreement can be signed before 30 June. Those close to Gudelj project calm, and he did not stage a farewell against Real Madrid on Sunday because they believe it will not be his last home appearance.

Ramos is seen as pivotal, with alignment between the incoming leadership and the Serbian midfielder. The pair forged a close friendship two seasons ago when they shared a dressing room and led the team together, a chemistry still visible in public messages that could help seal a deal.

From Serbia, Sportklub reports that Red Star Belgrade have made Gudelj a priority target for next season. Even so, his inclination to continue at Sevilla could yet outweigh that interest.
