Neo Química Arena closed all South Stand toilets during Corinthians' 10th-round meeting with Internacional due to structural problems.

Supporters in the area reported difficulties in the first half, with all urinals blocked, leading to discomfort and queues. The arena said in a statement that its maintenance contractor was called on Sunday and was already working to resolve the issue, and expressed regret over the incident.

The decision came before the interval. As a stopgap, containerised chemical toilets were installed nearby, although the limited number could not meet demand.

Long queues formed, particularly at half-time.

In recent days the venue has also staged non-football events, including Friday’s Família ao Pé da Cruz organised by the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus, which drew a large crowd. On the pitch, Corinthians entered under pressure to win as Dorival Júnior’s side sought to end a run of eight games without victory, five draws and three defeats, early in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
