As Real Madrid begin a new era under Jose Mourinho, fans will soon get the opportunity to see another side of the Portuguese coach.

As such, Netflix has confirmed the release of “Mourinho”, a three-part documentary series that explores the career of one of football’s most successful and controversial managers.

The documentary arrives at a significant moment for Mourinho, who has returned to the Santiago Bernabeu more than a decade after ending his first spell at the club in 2013.

While preparations for the 2026/27 season are already underway at Valdebebas, fans will also be able to revisit the defining moments of his managerial journey when the series premieres on 11 August.

A trailer has already been released through Netflix’s official social media channels, offering an early glimpse of what viewers can expect from the production.

Netflix documentary revisits Mourinho’s greatest moments

The new series is divided into three episodes, each exploring different stages of Mourinho’s remarkable career.

According to the announcement, the documentary revisits some of the Portuguese manager’s biggest achievements while also revealing personal stories from his years in football.

Among the memories featured are moments involving Diego Maradona and Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside reflections on the trophies and milestones that helped establish Mourinho as one of the game’s most decorated coaches.

The documentary also captures Mourinho’s trademark confidence when discussing his legacy.

“You don’t make a documentary about a bloke who doesn’t win anything,” he says in the trailer.

Mourinho focused on the new season

Away from the cameras, Mourinho’s attention is on preparing Real Madrid for the 2026/27 campaign.

The club officially began pre-season today, although the opening day involved only a limited group of players because many senior internationals are either still competing at the FIFA World Cup or enjoying their post-tournament break.

Those available reported to Valdebebas for routine medical examinations before training commenced.

Among the first-team players present were Andriy Lunin, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, Raul Asencio, Eduardo Camavinga, Gonzalo García and Franco Mastantuono.

Meanwhile, Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes and Ferland Mendy also attended as they continue their respective injury recovery programmes.
