Neumann double lifts Birmingham into fourth | OneFootball

Birmingham City beat Wrexham 2-1 at the Racecourse Ground on Friday night, climbing from 15th to fourth in the Championship.

Phil Neumann headed in from Alexander William Cochrane's corner in the 13th minute to open the scoring.

Callum Doyle levelled for Wrexham (54.) after Lewis O'Brien recycled a corner, but Neumann restored the lead with another header from August Priske's cross (63.).

James Beadle made smart saves to deny Kieffer Moore as Birmingham protected their advantage.

Demarai Gray departed injured at the interval, with Patrick Roberts introduced for the visitors.

Wrexham saw 61% of the ball but registered nine attempts with four on target. Birmingham produced 10 attempts and six corners, making their aerial threat count.

Wrexham remain winless after three league games and visit Millwall next. Birmingham host Southampton next.
