Antoine Semenyo's potential January sale could net Bristol City a hefty sum
Manchester City are considered the favourites to sign Antoine Semenyo this January amid Bristol City’s sell-on clause for the Ghana international.
According to Sky Sports (10.31), the two Manchester clubs are firmly in the race to sign Semenyo, along with Tottenham Hotspur, as the winter market approaches.
The former Bristol City player has enjoyed a strong start to the Premier League campaign, scoring yet again on Monday evening in a 4-4 draw against one of his prospective new teams Manchester United.
Semenyo made the switch to the Cherries in the 2023 January transfer window in a deal worth a reported £10.5 million.
However, it’s also been claimed that the Robins will be owed 20 per cent of the profit from a sale if the player leaves Bournemouth.

Man City are considered the current favourites to win the race to sign Semenyo during the upcoming January transfer window.
It’s understood that his £65 million release clause will become active on 1 January, which could open the door for his exit from the Premier League side.
Man United and Tottenham are also reportedly firmly in the race to sign the 25-year-old, with Liverpool also mentioned as a possible next destination.
If Semenyo is sold for his £65 million release clause, then Bristol City will be entitled to an £11 million fee due to their 20 per cent of profit sell-on clause.
The forward has contributed seven goals and three assists from 15 appearances in the top flight so far this season.
Meanwhile, Gerhard Struber’s side are 11th in the Championship table, four points adrift of the play-off places after 21 games.
Next up for Bristol City is a home clash against second place Middlesbrough on 20 December in a 3pm kick-off at Ashton Gate.

An additional £11 million coming in during the January window would be great business for Bristol City, particularly when it doesn’t involve selling a player in Struber’s current squad.
This development involving Man City and Man United will be welcome at Ashton Gate, as it raises the chances of a deal actually coming to fruition.
The club did a great job negotiating the 20 per cent of profit sell-on clause, and it’s a testament to Semenyo’s rise that it could be worth more than the initial fee Bristol City received to sell him to Bournemouth.
He’s become one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents, and that is something the Robins can be proud of, as they played a key role in his development.
