New images show Elland Road expansion gathering pace as capacity set to hit 53,000 | OneFootball

Work to expand Elland Road is accelerating ahead of the new season, with capacity rising from 37,645 to 53,000. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a new set of images shows progress across the site.

Activity is concentrated around the West and North Stands, where external structures by the West Stand are being demolished and the Banqueting Suite has been removed.

The old ticket office has been demolished, and floodlights behind the stand have also come down.

Work is under way inside the ground, and the pitch and dugouts will be completed in time for next season.

Leeds United are next expected to host RB Leipzig in a pre-season friendly on the weekend of 8/9 August.

Supporters can expect improved seating, comfort and sightlines throughout the new West Stand.
