According to Leedsunited.news, Leeds United supporters unveiled a third new Dominic Calvert-Lewin chant in a week, as the striker’s first-half brace set up a dominant victory over Crystal Palace at Elland Road.
Calvert-Lewin was razor sharp in the box and profited from Ethan Ampadu’s dangerous long throws, with Ampadu also on the scoresheet. Leeds’ resurgence continued with what felt like their most complete display of the season.
The former Everton forward matched Mark Viduka’s 2003 feat by scoring in his fifth consecutive Premier League game. He needed time to settle after a free transfer in the summer, but is now rediscovering the form that brought him 11 England caps.
Two new chants debuted at Brentford, then Elland Road rang to “England’s number nine” as Calvert-Lewin led the line on a jubilant night. The crowd made clear how they view his chances of an international return.
The centre forward has seven Premier League goals, with six in his last five outings, after lean final years at Everton. There are calls for him to be considered for Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, and, if this surge continues, he could challenge his career-best 16 in his first year with the Whites.
