New Threat for Bayern? Liverpool Adds Olise to Its Transfer Wish List

Michael Olise remains one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe. While Real Madrid has been monitoring the Bayern star for weeks, Liverpool FC now appears poised to enter the transfer race—provided the Reds actually receive a billion-dollar cash injection.

Bayern Munich has no intention whatsoever of letting the French international go. Olise still has a long-term contract in Munich through 2029 and, following his strong season and a convincing World Cup performance, is considered an indispensable building block for the future.

Nevertheless, speculation surrounding the 24-year-old continues unabated.

An investor could open up new possibilities for Liverpool

According to reports by Sky and The Guardian, a consortium led by British-Indian businessman Amit Bhatia is said to be interested in acquiring approximately 30 percent of the shares in Liverpool FC. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is also named in the reports as a potential investor, though his involvement has not yet been confirmed.

The stake is reportedly valued at around 1.6 billion euros. Should the investment actually go through, Liverpool could once again significantly expand its financial capabilities in the transfer market.

The long-term goal of the new investors is reportedly to make Liverpool the number one club in European soccer. To that end, they plan, among other things, to compete with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the transfer market.

Olise is said to be among the players they are targeting.

Michael Olise is at the center of the speculation. The 24-year-old has been repeatedly linked with the Reds in the past. Along with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, the French international is said to be among the top targets.

Regardless, a transfer would likely be difficult to pull off anyway. Bayern Munich has repeatedly emphasized that Olise is not for sale. Most recently, President Herbert Hainer made it unmistakably clear that the record champions are not a club that sells players.

Real Madrid has been pursuing the attacking star for weeks now, but so far without success. If Liverpool were to join the ranks of interested clubs and had additional billions at its disposal, the competition for Olise could become even more intense in the future. As things stand, however, all signs continue to point to the Frenchman wearing the FC Bayern jersey next season as well.
