Newcastle United want to reward Lewis Mile with a new contract, per the Sun.
The 20-year-old’s current deal runs until 2029, but the Magpies are keen to reward him with a better deal.
An announcement is not expected any time soon as the two parties are yet to finalise the terms.
Miley has been a key first-team player for Newcastle in the last two seasons, making 80 senior appearances.
He mainly operates as a central midfielder, but manager Eddie Howe has used him as a right-back this season after injuries to Tino Livramento and Kieran Trippier.
Miley performed impressively in his new role.
He picked up a serious injury during training last week, ruling him out for the rest of the season. However, he is expected to return for the start of pre-season.
Newcastle are keen to secure the youngster’s long-term future, with Trippier leaving at the end of the season.
Livramento’s future at St James’ Park is also a source of speculation, with Manchester City and Arsenal reportedly interested in securing his services.
The Tyneside club may be reluctant to sell, but a big offer could change their stance.
Newcastle have endured a difficult 2025-26 campaign. They are 13th in the Premier League standings with two games remaining.
Despite their struggles, the club’s hierarchy will retain Howe as their manager.
