Newcastle are interested in signing Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, as the Magpies look to rectify their issues at the centre-forward position, per The Telegraph.

The Newcastle recruitment team likes the 19-year-old who has taken the Premier League by storm, bagging 11 goals and creating three big chances in 29 appearances.

The Toons are desperate for firepower up top, but mega-money signings Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have not exactly set St James’ Park on fire this season.

Woltemade does not fit Eddie Howe’s tactics, something the club’s transfer team should have noted before recommending him as a signing.

He looks short of confidence, off the boil, and will likely leave the Tyneside outfit in search of a new lease of life.

As for Wissa, injuries hampered his start and made it difficult for him to get up to speed. There may yet be redemption for him next season.

However, Newcastle cannot afford to sit around and wait. The Magpies need a lethal forward to deliver the goods.

Kroupi would be a sensational pick-up for the Magpies. He is a smart centre-forward who can develop into a world-beater.

Firstly, his conversion rate is ridiculous. Lauded by Daniel Sturridge as ‘one of the best finishers in the Premier League’, he has missed only three big chances this season.

He is the first teenager to score 10 or more goals in their first Premier League season since Robbie Keane in 1999/2000 (12).

The variety of his goals has also caught the eye. He has scored on his weaker left foot, with his head and from outside the box.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, several top Premier League and European clubs are also keeping tabs on the young French talent.

The Magpies already got burnt chasing players with transfer interest from bigger clubs.

Still, Kroupi is an elite talent whose finishing prowess is remarkable. He just might be worth a massive gamble.
