Newcastle ‘to consider’ Joao Gomes, while Wolves ‘to target’ Adrian Blake | OneFootball

Newcastle United have discussed Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes as a possible target, The Athletic reports, with his name mentioned in planning meetings at St James Park.

Newcastle have sold Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur for 100 million this summer, while Bruno Guimaraes is strongly linked with a move to Arsenal.

Gomes has played 116 Premier League games for Wolves and has scored seven league goals since joining from Flamengo in 2023.

Wolves are also weighing a winger addition, with FC Utrecht’s Adrian Blake on their shortlist this summer, according to Sky Sports News. Burnley and Celtic are understood to be competing for the 20-year-old.

The former Watford wide player made just three first-team appearances at Vicarage Road in 2022-23. He has since produced nine goals and five assists in 63 outings for Utrecht, including four goals and two assists last season. He has one year left on his contract and is valued at around 2.5 million.
