Newcastle to visit Mestalla for Trofeo Naranja on eight August | OneFootball

According to AS, Valencia have confirmed Newcastle will visit Mestalla for the Trofeo Naranja on eight August, the official home presentation for Carlos Corberán's team at the beginning of the end for Mestalla.

The 54th edition will kick off at 21:00 and will close the club's pre-season.

Valencia's summer programme comprises Atlético Petróleos de Luanda on 18 July in Girona, Eldense on 22 July in Paterna, Castellón on 25 July in Paterna, Derby County on 28 July in Birmingham, Stoke City on one August in Stoke-on-Trent, then Newcastle on eight August in Valencia.

Founded in 1892, Newcastle have never played at Mestalla. The clubs have met only once, a 2008 friendly at St. James Park that finished 2-1 to the British side.

Valencia's pre-season starts next week with medicals, followed by group training from six July at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna. The squad will hold two camps, one in Girona and another at the Football Association's facilities.
