Newcastle United have stepped up their search for attacking reinforcements, and Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa has emerged as a target.

The Magpies want to add elite 1v1 dribbling and unpredictability at the top end of the pitch, and Moussa fits the exact high-octane profile being drawn up at St James’ Park.

Operating primarily as an inside forward, Moussa enjoyed a sensational 2025-26 campaign with Feyenoord, registering 14 goals and seven assists in 40 games across all competitions.

He excels at cutting inside onto his preferred left foot, using a low centre of gravity and high-intensity acceleration to weave out of tight spaces.

While the now-departed Anthony Gordon was Newcastle’s go-to man on the left, the opposite flank has often lacked consistent output, with Anthony Elanga enduring an underwhelming debut campaign.

However, signing Moussa will not be straightforward. Feyenoord have tied the Algerian international down to a long-term contract running until 2030, meaning they hold all the leverage.

The Eredivisie club have slapped a minimum €30 million valuation on their prized asset to even open formal negotiations.

His agent, Mohamed Dahmane, is already in contact with several European clubs.

Newcastle will need to move decisively to secure one of European football’s most entertaining wide prospects, who has been described as ‘incredible‘ by Marco van Basten.

The Magpies are also in the race to sign Nigerian starlet Zadok Yohanna, who is attracting interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea.
