Newcastle United reach agreement to sign Johan Manzambi  | OneFootball

Newcastle United and Freiburg have reached an agreement for the transfer of 20-year-old midfielder Johan Manzambi worth €60m, according to Sky Germany. 

It has been reported that everything has been agreed and that Newcastle are now finalising the final details of the agreement with Manzambi, who is set to sign a long-term contract.

Fellow English club Aston Villa were also reportedly in the race for Manzambi after Amadou Onana sustained an ACL injury during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but Newcastle are the favourites to land the player. 

Manzambi has scored three goals and provided two assists in this summer’s tournament – and scored five goals and created a further four in 27 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg last season – but is currently sidelined for Switzerland. His nation will face Argentina in the quarter-finals after beating Colombia on penalties.
