The Magpies boss will look to strengthen his attacking ranks in the coming weeks, and Bro Hansen has emerged as a target.

The Danish super talent is also on the radar of Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus and Ajax.

The Newcastle target has 19 goals in his last 26 games, with seven goals and three assists in 12 games for Bodo/Glimt and 12 goals in 14 matches for Denmark under-17.

Bro Hansen is currently impressing at the ongoing under-17 European Championship and scouts have been running the rule over him.

The teenage sensation is proving his quality in the Norwegian top-flight but whether he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League remains to be seen.

Newcastle likely see Bro Hansen as a player for the future and he could be joining their youth ranks should he complete a move to SJP this summer.

Bodo/Glimt sporting director Havard Sakariassen is a huge admirer of the the youngster and is confident he can become a player for one of the European bigwigs.

“He’s a very young lad and has wonderful talent when it comes to scoring goals,” Sakariassen told AS.

“He has the potential to become an international goalscorer. Since joining the first team, he’s adapted to the pace of training spectacularly. I think he has a very bright future.

“He has a knack for scoring goals. He’s not playing for Barca today, but he’s 16 years old. His performance during first-team training is incredible. That says a lot about his potential.”

Newcastle will hope to pip fierce competition to his services but their chances are slim after failing to qualify for Europe following an underwhelming season.
