Neymar will be rested by Santos against San Lorenzo as he manages right calf oedema from the 3-0 defeat to Coritiba. The forward has been called up by Brazil for the 2026 World Cup.
According to Diario Do Peixe, he is expected to be available only until 26 May, then report to Granja Comary on 27 May. With no finalised plan, the trend is to preserve him in coming games.
The club do not class it as a muscle injury, but pain and discomfort led medics to rest him. He is receiving treatment at CT Rei Pelé, coordinated with CBF, with physiotherapist Ricardo Rosa involved.
He will miss Wednesday's 19:00 home match with San Lorenzo, the penultimate round of the Copa Sudamericana group phase. Santos are bottom of Group D with three points from four games and must win to keep hopes alive.
He is likely to be spared the trip to Grêmio on Saturday in Porto Alegre in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
A return is targeted for Deportivo Cuenca on 26 May at Vila Belmiro, which could be his last Santos outing before joining Brazil. Any involvement depends on the group picture, and Cuca could pick him if they remain in contention.
Neymar has been on a managed workload all season. In 2026 he has played 15 matches, scored six and provided four assists, and had four consecutive outings before the calf issue.
He is contracted to Santos until December 2026, and there are currently no talks with other clubs.
