Neymar will shorten his appearance at his institute’s charity auction in São Paulo on Monday night, ahead of Santos’ Copa do Brasil last-16 tie against Remo in Belém on Tuesday at 21:30 Brasília time.

"I will not be able to stay for the whole auction, because tomorrow there is the game. I came to take part a little, because I am going home to rest," he told ESPN.

The forward will follow his own travel plan to join a Santos squad already in Belém. Wearing the number 10 shirt, he is due to fly at around 9:00 by private plane and arrive in the early afternoon.

He will attend the pre-match talk with team-mates in the afternoon, then head to the stadium with the delegation in the early evening. A decision on whether he starts will only be made once he is in Belém.

"I am going to the game. Santos reporters have already released all of my schedule, you probably know. I will even be on the bench already," he joked.

Asked about Cuca casting doubt over his involvement in Belém, he said: "I do not know, I do not know. Santos is weird, right."

On his father not ruling out a future return to the Brazil national team, he added: "He is not the one who plays."
