Selected by Carlo Ancelotti for the 2026 World Cup, Neymar faces doubts over fitness and sharpness, yet recent figures tell a different story.

According to Diario Do Peixe, between two April and 17 May he logged 862 minutes for Santos, more than any other forward in Brazil's call-up. He featured in 10 of Santos' 13 matches in that span, missing only against Flamengo, Palmeiras and Bahia.

Across those 10 games, the No 10 completed the full 90 seven times, a run he had not managed for some time in his recent career.

The minutes ranking among the attacking picks had Vini Jr on 822, then Luiz Henrique 618, Igor Thiago 540 and Endrick 519.

Matheus Cunha recorded 428, Gabriel Martinelli 394, Rayan 336 and Raphinha 89.

That sequence was decisive in his return to Brazil after close to three years away from official matches. His last competitive outing for the national side came in October 2023, when he sustained a serious left knee injury against Uruguay.
