Santos resumed training on Monday afternoon at CT Rei Pelé with Neymar involved. The forward is expected to return against Macará in the Copa Sudamericana on Thursday.

According to Globo.com, the No 10 missed the defeat to Athletico through suspension but took part in the ball work led by coach Cuca.

Neymar and the substitutes trained in a small-sided session, while the starters stayed indoors for recovery. The tie begins at Vila Belmiro at seven pm Brasília time.

Cuca and his staff have two more days on the grass before the game. He is not ruling out resting some starters given the club’s position in the Brasileirão.

Santos have 22 points and sit in the relegation zone. The squad will train again on Tuesday afternoon at CT Rei Pelé.
