Neymar trained on the pitch for Santos on Friday morning at CT Rei Pelé, having worked only indoors since Wednesday.

According to Globo.com, Santos will be without Gabriel Barbosa against Remo on Thursday in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro after he felt pain in his right leg. Exams showed a slight oedema in the soleus, part of the triceps surae. He has begun physiotherapy, expected to last around seven days, and he is expected to return against Flamengo on five April in the 10th round.

Right-back Mayke is also unavailable, restricted to gym work. He underwent regenerative therapy on his right knee and needed to take a corticoid to complete the procedure. The substance is not permitted and must clear his system to avoid a doping risk, with 20 days forecast.

Friday’s session started with physical work, then coach Cuca oversaw technical and tactical drills. Players worked on movement, passing and finishing in a small-sided setting.

Cuca has demanded intensity throughout the week. The team’s physical levels had recently been questioned by the media during Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s tenure due to in-game drop-offs.
