Ten years after Leicester’s Premier League triumph, only N'Golo Kanté and Riyad Mahrez went on to shine at bigger clubs. L'Équipe charts the 2015-16 starters’ paths.
Kasper Schmeichel stayed until 2022 and helped win the 2021 FA Cup, then had brief spells at Nice and Anderlecht. He is with Celtic until June, his future uncertain after a shoulder injury.
Danny Simpson left in 2019 for Championship moves, retired in 2024, then boxed a YouTuber and began coaching. Wes Morgan, captain in 2016, retired in 2021 and now scouts for Nottingham Forest’s academy. Robert Huth later ran Leicester’s loans and is seeking work.
Christian Fuchs joined Charlotte in 2021, became an assistant, then in 2025 took charge of Newport County in League Two. Marc Albrighton retired in 2024 and now works for BBC 5 Live, recently offering to return to help.
Riyad Mahrez starred until 2018, then spent five garlanded years at Manchester City, lifting the Champions League and four league titles. Since 2023 with Al-Ahli, he has won two Asian Champions Leagues. N'Golo Kanté joined Chelsea in 2016, won both major trophies, then after three years at Al-Ittihad moved to Fenerbahçe in February, where he starts.
Jamie Vardy left as a 200-goal Leicester legend and now has five in 25 Serie A matches for La Cremonese. Danny Drinkwater’s 2017 Chelsea move proved a fiasco and he now works in property. Shinji Okazaki played in Spain’s second tier and Belgium, and now helps run Basara Mayence in Germany.
