Nicaragua opens W Qualifiers with victory against Antigua and Barbuda

NORTH SOUND, Antigua and Barbuda — The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers kicked off with Nicaragua earning a 4-nil win against Antigua and Barbuda in Group B on Thursday at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda.
Nicaragua pulled ahead early in the 10’, with Nathaly Silva scoring from a right-footed shot to capitalize on an assist from Sheyla Flores.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 19’ through a finish from Flores from outside the box. Silva provided the assist on the play.
Nicaragua further extended its advantage in the 31’, with Doriana Aguilar tucking the ball away at the bottom-right corner after a through ball into space from Flores.
Hannah Lee rounded out the win for the Central Americans in the 85’. Ines Navarrete recorded the assist for the final goal of the match.
Nicaragua will continue its campaign with a visit to Guyana on Monday. Antigua and Barbuda will resume action during the March international match window.
