Nice and Metz reach agreement for Gauthier Hein transfer | OneFootball

Gauthier Hein is to join Nice after Metz and Nice agreed a deal, with confirmation expected early this week.

Nice-Matin reported on Sunday that the transaction had been finalised. The Metz playmaker, 29 and under contract until 2028, had been keen on the move.

He is due to sign a three-year contract. The fee is understood to be around €2m, or more than €3m plus bonuses.

Hein offers experience and creativity for coach Olivier Pantaloni, who has been trialling a 3-4-2-1 shape. He could operate behind the striker.

He captained Metz until early February and ended last season with 31 appearances and 8 goals. He has played 187 Ligue 2 matches and 80 in Ligue 1 after spells with Auxerre, Valenciennes and Tours.

Mainz had also been monitoring him.
