Nice and Nancy win Championnat des pelouses in record season | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, OGC Nice and Nancy have been crowned winners of the Championnat des pelouses, topping Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 respectively in a record-breaking edition.

As a consolation of sorts, Nice secured survival via a play-off against Saint-Étienne, 0-0 then 4-1, while Nancy finished 14th in Ligue 2.

Nancy recorded the best pitch score in France with a weighted average of 19.11 out of 20, ahead of US Boulogne CO on 18.49 and AS Saint-Étienne on 18.44.

In Ligue 1, Nice led the standings with an 18.42 average. Metz were next on 18.22, with Nantes third on 18.19 for the 2025-2026 season.

Overall pitch standards reached their highest level since the competition began in 2013, with an average score of 17.82 and no club below 16 out of 20.

Surfaces are assessed on multiple criteria, including ball roll, footing for officials and teams, and visual elements such as colour and mowing patterns for television.
