Nice eye Gauthier Gallon as back-up to Yéhvann Diouf | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Nice are interested in free agent goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon to serve as back-up to Yéhvann Diouf after Maxime Dupé left at the end of his contract.

The 33-year-old, born in Nice but yet to play for the club, is among the options to replace Dupé.

Since Dupé’s departure, and his move to Nantes, the club have been searching for a deputy for Diouf. Gallon offers Ligue 1 know-how from 62 matches and is unattached following a six-month spell with Dender in Belgium after leaving Rennes in January.

He made 16 appearances for Dender before a knee injury in May.

Nice need to make significant sales before spending on transfer fees, so recruiting a free goalkeeper appears the most feasible route.
